Seep No. 10 (Tiger Wall)

After four days floating the Yampa River, we reached the iconic Tiger Wall. It’s customary to get your portrait (in a boat) below this massive, overhanging, vibrantly streaked cliff. This was a very low water trip, just enough water to slip downstream. It turned out to be a wonderful thing for someone who loves seeps (openings in the porous sandstone where spring water leaches out). A wonderful band of seeps was exposed below the Tiger Wall. While the others too macro shots, I hung back and took lots of micros.

The river was particularly shallow, allowing me to hang out longer than usual.
